I read this book in one sitting on New Years Eve and I can't begin to adequately champion it. It's the finest written and most moving book I've read this past season. Get it. I mean, I already want to read it again. Now, that is rare.
For one, how can you not read a non-fiction book that begins, "Half my life ago I killed a girl." For seconds, I had the reader differentiation of actually knowing Darin. He taught me multiple classes at NYU and was a favored professor. All that aside, I'm finding myself clipping the review short because I don't want to spoil anything. If I begin to tell you my favorites you will look for them. So please just read it and talk to me. It's wonderful.
Buy it at an independent bookstore (you know me!) or at McSweeneys as they published it.
